CARSON CITY, Nev. – Chelsea Walburg, the Director of Business Development – North, at the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), has been elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER).
“This is an excellent opportunity to connect with my research colleagues in economic development throughout the country and stay current on best practices,” Walburg said. “I am thrilled to serve on the board for a business organization that is a prestigious leader in the economic community.”
Walburg collaboratively designs, plans, and implements economic development strategies and acts as a key liaison between public and private sectors and the community alongside the Director of Business Development – South, Melanie Sheldon.
“Chelsea works directly with all of our regional development authorities in providing key economic and demographic information to companies choosing to expand or relocate to our state.” said Bob Potts, GOED Deputy Director. “C2ER is one of the most respected national organizations in economic development with a focus to provide cutting edge research and analysis to their membership. Having Chelsea elected to help lead those efforts is a true honor.”
C2ER also announced that Laura Coleman was elected as its board chair for a one-year term. Coleman is the Statewide Director for the Center of Excellence for Labor Market Research (COE). The COED is a state-funded research initiative advising California’s community college system and helping them to identify opportunities and trends in high growth, emerging and economically critical industries and occupations.
C2ER supports community prosperity by promoting excellence and leadership in community, economic and workforce research. It focuses on professional development and networking, unique quality products, and the availability, analysis, and use of data.
