Nevada Export Grants
The Nevada Export Grants are administered by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) and funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Export Grants seek to increase the number of eligible small business exporters, and to increase the volume of goods and services they export that are made and produced in Nevada. GOED offers support to small businesses through a series of programs that are run to create opportunities to increase export opportunities for small and medium enterprises. All grants are reimbursement-based and have a streamlined, five-step process. Eligible Nevada small- and medium-sized business can participate in up to one Export Grant per federal fiscal year. Each program had its own eligible expenses and reimbursement criteria.
The Nevada Export Grant program is “Funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. COMPANY ELIGIBILITY
- Must be a for-profit business.
- Must be organized or incorporated in the United States of America.
- Must have significant operations in Nevada.
- Substantial presence in terms of workforce, facilities, and economic impact within that state.
- Must be exporting goods or services of S. origin or that have at least 51% U.S. content.
- Must meet the definition of a “small” business per U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) size standards. Note that all employees of affiliates, such as parent companies, subsidiaries, etc., are included in employee and annual receipts totals to determine size eligibility (SBA affiliation definition).
- Must have a Nevada business license.
- Must be in business for at least one year at the time the approved export promotion activity takes place.
- Must have sufficient resources to defray the costs associated with trade, which can include packing, shipping, freight, and customs brokerage costs.
Note: The above eligibility requirements apply to all companies that are affiliated through having the same controlling owners. Owners of multiple business will only be considered for one grant.
All eligibility criteria must be met.
COMPANY DISQUALIFIERS
Businesses that meet any of the following criteria are prohibited from participating:
- Does not meet SBA small business size standards;
- Is based in a foreign country;
- Is engaged in any activity that is illegal under federal, state, or local law or that can reasonably be determined to support or facilitate any activity that is illegal under federal, state, or local law;
- Derives more than one-third of its gross annual revenue from legal gambling activities;
- Presents live performances of a prurient sexual nature or derives more than a de minimis amount of revenue from the sale of products or services of a prurient sexual nature;
- Is not organized for profit;
- Is listed on the SAM.gov as a debarred entity;
- Is found to be actively participating in the STEP program of another U.S. state
- Have received more than two STEP-supported grants in the past

The Export Ed Grant is a reimbursement grant for participating in a partner export training program.

3. After you receive an Award Contract from Nevada GOED, pay your invoice and submit applicable documentation for reimbursement.
4. Receive reimbursement for your export education program.

Why this Grant?

This grant is great for new exporters. Please explore the options in the partner programs and create a plan for implementation for the ONE opportunity that best suits your company’s need. Companies are more than welcome to complete several services or trainings, but only one service will be reimbursable through Nevada’s Export Grant program for up to $2,500. The Nevada Goods Grant is a reimbursement grant for manufacturers of Nevada goods and products to exhibit at international trade shows.

Only one event will be reimbursable through Nevada’s Export Grant program for up to $6,000. Applications for this grant are accepted based on the date of the trade activity, and they will be competitively evaluated should the number of applications succeed the number of spots on the mission.
