Carson City, Nev. –The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development’s (GOED) Main Street program, which is part of the agency’s Rural Economic and Community Development division, is announcing the official Main Street America accreditation of Boulder City, MidTown Reno, and Yerington.
The Main Street accreditation recognizes these organizations for having a strong commitment to economic development and community revitalization in Nevada. With the addition of these three, Nevada now has six accredited Main Street programs:
- Main Street Gardnerville
- Main Street Boulder City
- Midtown Reno
- Yerington Main Street
- Downtown Reno Partnership
- Tonopah Main Street
“Main Street accreditation is a significant accomplishment,” said Shari Davis, director of GOED’s Rural Economic and Community Development division. “Earning this designation reflects measurable results, long-term commitment and a strong focus on best practices that help organizations grow and succeed. We are happy to see Boulder City, MidTown Reno, and Yerington receive accreditation this year. These organizations have worked to create positive change in their communities, and their dedication and success has been recognized on a national level.”
To qualify for accredited status, communities must demonstrate a proven track record of achieving outcomes in alignment with the national Main Street Approach and exceptional performance in six areas: broad-based community commitment to revitalization; inclusive leadership and organizational capacity; diversified funding and sustainable program operations; strategy-driven programming; preservation-based economic development; and demonstrated impact and results.
Nevada Main Street has grown to 29 organizations representing 34 communities, both rural and urban. Over $400,000 in grant funds have been distributed to 31 projects in 20 communities in FY2026.
Through Main Street and community efforts, 295 full-time jobs, 80 part-time jobs, and 232 new businesses were created in 2025, as well as 65 rehabilitation projects, 26 public improvement projects, and over $10 million in public and private investment. Volunteers last year spent over 19,000 hours on Main Street projects across Nevada, reflecting a significant investment in time and support for the community.
In addition to the new accreditations, Nevada Main Street welcomes five new organizations at the affiliate level, which recognizes a commitment to creating meaningful improvements to downtown spaces using preservation-based economic development and community revitalization. The five organizations are Wells Avenue District, Winnemucca Main Street, Mesquite Opportunities Regional Fund, Dayton Main Street, and Incline Village Crystal Bay Community and Business Association.
There are now 14 affiliate-level Main Street organizations in Nevada:
