CARSON CITY, Nev. — The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development’s Main Street program, housed under its Rural Economic and Community Development division, is proud to announce the official Main Street America accreditation of Main Street Gardnerville, Downtown Reno Partnership, and Tonopah Main Street.

The Main Street accreditation recognizes these organizations for having a strong commitment to economic development and community revitalization in Nevada.“Main Street accreditation is an exceptional achievement,” said Shari Davis, director of GOED’s Rural Economic and Community Development division. “It requires demonstrable impact, results, dedication and adherence to best practices to keep an organization successful and strong. We are thrilled that Tonopah and Downtown Reno Partnership are joining Gardnerville in achieving accreditation. All three organizations have worked to create positive change in their communities, and their dedication and success has been recognized on a national level.”

To quality for accredited status, communities must demonstrate a proven track record of achieving outcomes in alignment with the national Main Street Approach and exceptional performance in six areas: broad-based community commitment to revitalization; inclusive leadership and organizational capacity; diversified funding and sustainable program operations; strategy-driven programming; preservation-based economic development; and demonstrated impact and results.
