LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Nevada APEX Accelerator is joining APEX Accelerators across the country in recognizing National APEX Day and the Nevada businesses that pursue government contracts and subcontracts with the government’s prime contractors as a way to grow their companies and expand their customer base.

A division and program of the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), Nevada APEX Accelerator provides no-charge individualized assistance to Nevada businesses navigating the government procurement process at the local, state and federal levels. Its team works with businesses at every stage of the contracting process, from understanding procurement requirements and completing registrations to providing bid-proposal procurement technical assistance and identifying potential customers.

“Nevada APEX Accelerator plays an important role within GOED’s broader mission to grow and diversify Nevada’s economy,” said Tom Burns, executive director of GOED. “Government contracting can be a significant avenue for business growth, and our APEX division gives Nevada companies the knowledge and resources to navigate that process. We’re proud to recognize the businesses that are competing in this market and the work of the APEX team to strengthen Nevada’s business community, especially the small business community.”

The City of Las Vegas has also proclaimed October 8, 2026, as Nevada APEX Accelerator Day, recognizing the program’s role in strengthening Nevada’s small business community and supporting businesses pursuing government contracts. The proclamation was issued by Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley.

“It is a privilege working alongside fellow public servants, who care about our state’s businesses and their contracting-subcontracting pursuits in the public sector,” said Joan C. Rueben, director of the Nevada APEX Accelerator. “The team has witnessed client businesses scale to retain jobs, create jobs, and help to solve government challenges with innovative solutions.”
