CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) has approved $27,176,749 in tax abatements. In return, these companies are projected to create 352 jobs in the next five years at an average hourly wage of $41.85. Additionally, these companies will make a capital equipment investment of $340,776,410 and generate $84,470,096 in new tax revenues over the 10-year abatement period.
“Nevada is advancing projects that strengthen regional economies while delivering benefits statewide,” said Governor Lombardo. “Today’s board approval was focused on quality employment and long-term impact, and these investments are expected to generate more than $84 million in state revenue over the next decade.”
The companies receiving abatements are in Washoe County, Lyon County and Storey County:
- Amperesand, Inc. represented by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN), plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Reno. The company focuses on the development and production of advanced solid-state transformers. The company was approved for $2,004,004 in abatements and is expected to create 110 jobs at an average hourly wage of $55.50 within five years. The company is expected to make $18,434,000 in capital equipment investment in the first two years of operation and generate $13,812,135 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.
- Future Form Manufacturing, LLC also represented by EDAWN, plans to expand its existing manufacturing facility in Sparks. The company specializes in precision sheet metal fabrication and engineered assemblies supporting mission-critical infrastructure, particularly within the rapidly expanding data center and AI cloud ecosystem. Future Form Manufacturing was approved for $925,851 in abatements and is expected to create 170 jobs at an average hourly wage of $31.80 within five years. The company plans to make $10,674,505 in capital equipment investment in the first two years of operation and generate $17,666,383 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.
- Comstock Metals, LLC represented by Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA), plans to establish a solar panel recycling facility in Lyon County. Comstock Metals is a full-service solar recycler and has set the standard for solar panel recycling, leveraging recent changes to recycling incentives made during the last legislative session focused on critical minerals and energy production. The company was approved for $896,088 in abatements and is expected to create 58 jobs at an average hourly wage of $41.51 within five years. The company is expected to make $11,667,905 in capital equipment investment in the first two years of operation and generate $7,247,676 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.
- SV RNO Property Owner 1, LLC also represented by NNDA, is planning to establish a data center facility in Storey County. The company is part of a design and operating strategy for mega-scale, single or multi-user data center campuses in the U.S. to meet the growing demand for AI and cloud infrastructure. SV RNO was approved for $23,350,806 in abatements and is expected to create 14 jobs at an average hourly wage of $54.29 within five years. The company plans to make $300,000,000 in capital equipment investment in the first five years of operation and generate $45,743,902 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.
In addition to the abated companies, the GOED board today has approved $630,962 from the Workforce Innovations for a New Nevada (WINN) fund to support a CDL Training Expansion Program at Great Basin College. The funding will be used for state-of-the-art equipment to meet the needs of employers in the transportation and logistics sector. Employer partners for the program include Pilot Thomas Logistics, Redi Services, and Capurro Trucking Mining Division.
“While all WINN awards are designed in the same fashion to meet industry-led workforce training needs, this particular GBC program is exemplary in this effort,” said GOED Workforce Development Director Elaine Silverstone. “Employers in the region help inform our education and workforce partners on the skills needed to support business development, expansion and retention to bring high-quality jobs for Nevadans. The CDL Training Expansion program at GBC is designed with economic development in mind and directly supports the needs of key industries outlined in our State Plan.”
