The University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine

The University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine is a fully accredited, research-intensive medical school, which serves as one of Nevada’s public medical schools. It has an expanded mission to meet the rapidly growing and changing needs of Nevada’s rural communities. The University of Nevada Las Vegas is the state’s newest public allopathic medical school. It meets the rapidly increasing needs of a changing Nevada economy, including its growing urban population. It hosts residency and fellowship programs in pediatrics, trauma and surgery, geriatrics and sports medicine.

Touro University

Touro University also addresses the critical need for healthcare professionals. The non-profit, private university is home to more than 1,700 students in a wide range of degree programs in osteopathic medicine, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, and other specialties.

The University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Community Health Sciences is the only public school in the state with training programs in public health and research labs in environmental health and emerging diseases. Similarly, the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health offers new approaches to delay the onset of cognitive disorders such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other mild cognitive impairments. The UNLV Ackerman Autism center in Las Vegas provides multidisciplinary and outpatient state-of-the-art treatment, diagnostics, training and support programs for infants to young adults with autism.
