GOED Endorses NV Hope Effort to Build Nursing Workforce

CARSON CITY, Nev. – An excellent opportunity exists for those seeking to begin a career in nursing through NV Hope.

“Nurses are always in high demand, and this is a great way to get started,” said Vance Farrow, the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) Healthcare Industry Specialist. “I would strongly encourage those interested in nursing to check out this opportunity.”

To learn more about the NV Hope program that offers a fast track to the nursing certification program, contact Thresea Kaufman at tkaufman@nvactioncoalition.org. Farrow is a founding advisory board member of the Nevada Action Coalition, an advocacy organization for healthcare in Nevada. Goodwill Industries is also sponsoring this project.

NV Hope will help those interested in the fast-track certification and connect them to employers. The schedule for the next course offerings is June 26-30, July 24-28, Aug. 28-Sept. 1, Sept 25-29, Oct. 23-27 and Dec. 11-15.
