CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) has approved Vantage Data Centers to receive $19,274,000 in tax abatements.
Vantage Data Centers, which was established in Nevada in September 2024, plans to build a data center facility in Storey County that will likely house one or two tenants. The company is projected to create approximately 10 jobs within five years at an average hourly wage of $64. Additionally, the company will make a capital equipment investment of $254 million and generate $76 million in new tax revenues over a 10-year period.
“Data centers remain a vital component in our journey toward a more innovative and interconnected future,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “I look forward to the positive impact that Vantage Data Centers will bring to our state, and I extend my best wishes for their success as they help shape Nevada’s technological landscape.”
A Workforce Innovations for a New Nevada (WINN) application for Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) Lithium Loop Apprenticeship program has also received approval from the GOED board totaling $1,029,884. The program will address critical workforce needs in Nevada’s advanced manufacturing sector. This funding will enable TMCC to increase its capacity from 120 to over 300 qualified individuals, who will complete a four-week, 11 credit course designed to meet high-demand job requirements in Northern Nevada’s Lithium Loop ecosystem.
Nearly $9.9 million of the $10 million WINN fund has been allocated to support workforce development initiatives across the state.
