CARSON CITY, Nev. – APEX Accelerators across the U.S. are celebrating National APEX Day on Oct. 9, 2024.

The special day celebrates the successes of the tens of thousands of businesses — especially small businesses — that have leveraged APEX Accelerators’ government procurement technical assistance, training and outreach to win federal, state, and local government contracts as well as subcontracts with the government’s prime contractors. Assistance is provided via one-on-one counseling in person, by phone, by email and virtually.

A nationwide network of over 90 APEX Accelerators, with over 300 local offices, comprises more than 600 dedicated procurement professionals who work to help local businesses sell their goods and services to government agencies and prime contractors. In 2023, the APEX Accelerator network served over 56,000 clients and helped them win over $24 billion in government contracts and subcontracts.

APEX Accelerators have served the small business community for over 38 years, helping to expand the number of qualified small businesses competing for government contracts.

“APEX Accelerators embrace the challenge of helping small and innovative businesses bring products and services to government markets with their cutting-edge skills and technologies while maintaining essential security and cost-effectiveness,” said Dave Pease, past president of the National APEX Accelerator Alliance. “Hundreds of billions of dollars of revenue provide good jobs all across our country.”

The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development’s (GOED) Nevada APEX Accelerator division has been helping small local businesses win big and small government contracts since the 1980s, when it was known by another name. Between April 16-July 15, 2024, alone, APEX’s women-owned business clients, service-disabled veteran business clients, disadvantaged business clients, and those business clients in economically depressed areas won a total of $68.3 million in government contracts.

“It is a privilege to work alongside dedicated public servants who provide counseling and training to Nevada for-profit businesses, including those from the small business community,” said Joan C. Rueben, NCMA Fellow and director of GOED’s APEX division since 2016. “With the APEX team’s assistance, I have witnessed clients’ businesses scale, create jobs, keep jobs and diversify Nevada’s economy. Nevada businesses truly help to make our communities vibrant places to live and work.”

In celebration of National APEX Day and the special month of October, the Nevada APEX Accelerator invites its clients – both formal and prospective – to attend the Committed to Our Business Community event on Oct. 17, 2024, at the Las Vegas Convention Center-West Hall from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Please come by and visit the team, while having the opportunity to network with over 100 government agencies and other organizations. The annual function is hosted and sponsored by the Regional Business Development Advisory Council. For more information, contact David Eclips at davide@lasairport.com.

Please note the Nevada APEX Accelerator division has an open position for a government contracts advisor at GOED’s Carson City office. If you are interested in joining the team and wanting to see the recruiting announcement, contact the Nevada APEX Accelerator at NVAPEXAccelerator@goed.nv.gov.
